Franc Brugman

<p>Franc Brugman has been in the commercial architectural industry for some 25 years and has undertaken the design and development of most building types including retail, commercial, hotel, residential and mixed use. Franc was heavily involved in the mixed use development surrounding the Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, Johannesburg for over 18 years. Franc was involved in the development of, and completion of, the Square, the Theatre on the Square, the 32 story Michelangelo Towers (long stay apartment hotel) and the mixed use entity Legacy Corner, which includes the Da Vinci Hotel.</p> <p>Franc was involved in many shopping centres dotted across the African continent. He has worked on large regional malls across South Africa including Southgate, Northgate, Clearwater Mall, Sandton City and Tyger Valley in Cape Town and Franc was included in the team that built the first formal shopping centres in Nigeria (The Palms) and in Ghana (Accra Mall). Franc continues to operate, and enjoys working, in Africa and can lay claim to having worked in all the SADEC countries and is currently mostly active in Ghana, Zambia, Mozambique and to a degree in Nigeria.</p> <p>Franc is currently building a new hotel and associated long stay apartments in Accra and is excited about a new resort venture planned for the West Africa coast. Franc is most optimistic about Africa’s future and sees a burgeoning middle class driving development and success across Africa. The opportunities, he believes, are enormous and there is a lot of work to be done.</p>
