<p>Mugure Njendu is a registered Architect and Urban Planner, She is a Partner and the Managing Director at Gitutho Architects and Planners. The firm, based in Mombasa and Nairobi has been a leading firm in the industry for over 30 years.</p> <p>Having started her career in Boston, MA and further in Miami, FL, before returning to earn her registration as an accredited Architect in Kenya. Mugure has a wide range of experience spanning 12 years of professional practice. She has a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Masters of Architecture degree in Urban Planning. She is currently a Board Member of the Board of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya, a Board Member of Women in Real Estate, Kenya and serves at the Architectural Association of Kenya as the Honorary Secretary. She has also served as the Chair of the Board of Practice and Ethics in the East Africa Institute of Architects.</p> <p>Mugure joined Gitutho Architects and Planners in 2006, and became a Director of the Firm in 2011 and has ensured project generation and income and staff growth over the years. The Company has handled key projects not only in Nairobi and Mombasa, Kenya but in South Sudan. East African expansion has remained a key focus of the company.</p> <p>In 2015, Mugure founded Little Einstein’s East Africa. The Company focuses on teaching students about the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through entertaining hands-on activities. The company does this through engaging Students at The Science Explorers Lab located in Lavington, Nairobi as well as through In-School workshops and holiday camp activities. The Little Einstein’s Program is now offered in 18 schools in Nairobi and has over 3,000 children registered in the program. Little Einsteins East Africa further runs a STEM program on Youtube and is scheduled to open in Kigali Rwanda in July 2018.</p>
